Has anybody installed a 2005 5.7 Vortex into a 1989 GMC Sierra 4x4 i would like to keep the original trans and the 4x4 diff. What are the issues if this is possible?

 

Yes I'm a new member. I have a 89 GMC Sierra 4x4 and i have a 2005 c3500 w/a 5.7 vortex and my engine in the 89 is have rod an main bearing issues and was debating on getting a new CrankShaft with bearing kit or remove the engine from 2005 truck and install it in the 89 i have everything for the votex its still installed in the truck but the 2005 has been in an accident front end not repairable.

 

A 2005 3500 didn't come with a 5.7 Vortec. It is either a 6.0, 8.1, or Duramax.
