Hi guys, I used to be a member here around a year ago, went by the name 93Sierra, but, I forgot my password, and my e-mail address changed, so I couldn't get anything sent to me. I used to (and still) own a 1993 GMC Sierra C2500 SL, which my father bought a year after I was born. I still have it, although, for the most part, it's no longer able to function. I hasn't spun a bearing, but something is wrong. As the engine warms up, the oil pressure drops until it reads 10 PSI, and the engine make a dull, slow grinding noise. 253K miles, 2nd 4.3L engine, figure it doesn't owe me anything. I have a lot of my childhood tied up in it, so, I figured...best thing I could do, was buy the same thing, mildly improved.


Bought a 1993 GMC Sierra K1500 SLE last week. 117K, new transmission, every option, 5.0, automatic. Nice truck.


Got a few little quirks, nothing that is serious, nothing that is too hard to fix, either.

If the old truck could haul articulated tractors on a 30 foot long trailer, over brides, down highways, on back roads, as well as pull peanut trailers, water tankers, etc with a V-6....it's earned my respect.

 

How's it going, I don't remember you so you might have shown up after I got here, I used to go by Chevyalltheway but when the format changed I was banned, then promoted to moderator. A lot of the old techys are gone ie 72charger, Argon, Majorsilva. But we have a few relatively new guys here that I'm sure could help you out. (ruffneck4life, mr shamrock) Congrats on the new truck and post some pics of the beast. I think it is now time to drop a 502 in the old truck and lift her up, but thats just me

 

Speaking of which...why aren't my pictures showing up in my signature, when they are valid links? Is there a 20 post minimum or something?
