Default Hello to all truckers

I've got what I think is a running too hot problem.
First of all the truck is a 2002 1500 4x silverado with 150 thousand miles and the engine is a 5.3 .
It seems that it runs fine around town and on long drives, but as soon as I get into the the hot areas of Ca and NV. it starts running hotter to the point where I turn the A/C off and turn on the heater to bring it down. I also tow 2 three seater wave runners.

This is what I've done to this point.. Changed the raditor, thermostat, water pump anti freeze, cap on anti freeze bottle and also had one side of the cats inspected and they were found to be fine. The trucks runs around town @ 205 degrees and when I get out into the hot desert of 100 and above it starts climbing to around 245 plus before I panic and kill the A/C and turn on the heater. I've talked to the dealer and they 245 plus is normal for driving in that temp, they also suggested that my gauge is probably out of wack sine the truck is 12 years old.
I'm planing on buying the "scanguage" set up to see whay my real temp is. One last thing is that I've never lost any fluids.. no boil overs..
Please feel free to submit questions or comments..thx john

welcome....If its not boiling over or into the overfill tank too much, you likely dont have too much of a problem. The Scangauge would be a nice thing to have regardless

I picked up the scangauge 2 and installed it, where it might not solve a problem that I think I might have... it sure will give me a piece of mind and it's cool!
