Default New from Michigan

Hi, I'm Dave from Michigan. I have an 85 GMC 1/2 ton that I got for a project, but I've been driving it as much as I've been working on it. It came with the 6.2 diesel, but has been converted to gas. The engine is a 383 stroker with a 770 holley street avenger, comp cam, roller rockers ect. The trans is a 350 turbo. It has a 4" Rancho suspention lift and 33" tires. It's not a bad start, but it has 3.42 gears in it right now, so it's not as much fun as it could be. The body is in good shape for a Michigan truck and white face autometer gauges have been installed where the factory ones were. I'm hoping to find some parts and learn some tricks from people on this forum. I also have a 90 Chevy 3/4 ton 350 3 speed work truck, the heavy duity one with the bigger brakes and 8 bolt hubs, and drive an 05 Avalanche at work.

The pic is off my phone so it's kind of crappy.

Nice. Your tuck is still in good shape. With that kind of lift, it can take more aggressive tires!

Thanks, I looked for 8 years to find a truck like that without a ton of rust and with a price that wasn't too high. The old Daytons are getting kind of worn out. I had Super Swampers on my old truck and I liked them, but I'm not sure on this one. I'm playing with the idea of putting a 2" body lift under it and going with 35s, but it's hard enough for the kids to get in and out of it now, so I'm not sure if I will or not.
