Default newbie looking for info

Hello all. I have a '98 k3500 7.4. My last engine died with a spun bearing at 153,000 miles on it. So on my new engine I wanted to beef the "week" areas up a little bit. Iinstalled a Moroso billet oil pump 22163 high pressure/high volume and a billet OEM distributor that was a drop in. I'm in CA and I have to deal with emissions. On my last engine I went thru three distributor gears in about a year and a half. I thought that the plastics distributor housing may have contributed to the short lifespan of the gear (it looked bowed when I took it out). I know that the new oil pump is going to be pretty high PSI the gauge on the dash only goes to 80psi and the pump is over that easily at idle so this weekend I have to install a pillar gauges that goes up to 140 psi Ok so here are my questions. Does anybody have experience with this oil pump? What kind of psi should I expect? Also If I start going thru distributor gears again I would like to switch to a steel cam and distributor gear. Does anybody have experience with a steel cam in a Gen VI? Thanks Lloyd
