In SE Ohio..... I have never seen my self as a dyed in the wool truck guy. I have been involved with drag racing for way more than a few years, 1959 to 2011. I flat towed with a '59 Pontiac, later with a '61. Still later with a '76 Safari wagon. Used that up into the 1980s. I got into guns in the 1960s, still there. I resisted getting a truck even after my mother married the local GMC dealer in the mid 1960s. Was easy to see that towing a trailer and race car combo. really required a truck. I sorta hinted that I could use a 454 1/2 ton version. By 1980 I had one with only a few miles on it. It became our regular transportation after I caught onto how handy it was. Had an '86 305 along with the 454. Traded for a '97 low mile 350 V.. Towed with it until I quit drag racing. I would like to think I would still be at drag racing at 82 if my wife hadnt lost a foot to a farm tractor. '97 has gotten old, 250,000, still looks really nice in almost no rust and original bright blue paint. I know I am not far from the "last" ride to a dirt nap. I want to leave her with a newer low mile similar. Found one locally, '18 w/ 27,000, however, with topper, it is 5" too tall for our heated/AC garage. I posted for suggestions on this problem under different heading. We still have 1960s cars we drive, but only on occasion.

Chased cattle most of the afternoon, so early to bed.......
