I have a 98 gmc 3500 crew cab that has a tired 5.7 vortec. I recently purchased a 97 5.7 vortec donor engine to build as a 383 stroker while my truck is still on the road. My main question is how big can you go with the cam before the stock computer is not enough, and how much lift will the stock valve springs and guides hold before coil binding or retainer hitting the guide?
