Default Trailer light connector

I guess I’m an idiot. My Silverado has what looks like a cap over the spot where you would plug in your trailer lights. I couldn’t figure out how to remove the cap so I tried to pry it off, which broke the plastic piece that holds the entire assembly in place. Turns out it wasn’t a cap at all-it was the front of the trailer light connector. So I still can’t figure out how to make it go away so I can plug in my trailer lights. Little help?

It sounds like you broke the connector. You should get a new connector and install it. To plug in your trailer lights, look for the right connector piece. It might be helpful to check a manual or ask a professional for the correct part and how to install it.
