Default Help in ID of trailer hitch

Hello,

I purchased a 2003 GMC 3500 Dually recently. It was a government vehicle and has a tool / utility body on the back. I am going to be pulling a trailer next week and want to make sure I have the hardware setup properly. However, the tow hitch isn't the standard ball that I see around.

Do any of you know what kind of hitch this is? Will this work properly with standard trailers that use the ball hitch? I was planning on renting a trailer from uhaul and want to be sure I can link up to it. I'm new to trucks, so I appreciate your help!

If I should post this in another sub-forum, please let me know.

Many thanks.

It's called a PINTLE HITCH. Normally NO it won't work with a conventional Ball Hitch style trailer.
Unless the pintle hitch is a universal style like the second picture.

I dont see a ball on there.......You can buy a ball mount that bolts in place of that pindle hitch. The trailer rental place should be able to help you out

There may be a square hitch under there. Then you just need the bar and ball
