Default not sure what this part is called

I have a 2012 gmc sierra 1500, the plasic piece behind the hood that covers the hood latches flew off on the highway. A body shop broke it so it was not on good to begin with. Anyways I am trying to find it to replace but I have no clue what it is called

Radiator fill panel? lol I dunno. Go ask a GM parts counter person and they can get you one no problem with their exploded view of every single part on the car lol.

Radiator Header Panel ??? But that could never fly off going down the road.

I don't think I'm clear on what it is that your looking for.
I would do like Nullhead said.
Explain to your dealership what your looking for and they will shop you a detailed picture of your truck. You just have to point it out and they will give you the proper description and name of the part.
The body shop should actually be buying you one

Its that black plastic piece behind the Hood that Co era the hinges that lifts the Hood up and down. Its on both sides of the truck behind the Hood or in front of the window. Its a cover. The body shop that did work on my truck broke one of the clips on it so it was not fasten down right and I guess the wind got under it n blew it off

Sorry Billy. I've googled it.. for the past half hour and can't find anything.
I still think it's called the Header Panel that mounts Under the windshield, on top of the Fire Wall.
It funny your windshield wiper arms weren't able to prevent it from getting away.

Like we said earlier. Go to your dealership and find the proper description and possibly a price.
I still think your body shop should come good for a new one. But with a proper description of one and an idea of what they are worth you should be able to get a new one from an Auto Recycler. As long as they don't break it while they are taking it off for you.

That's the piece I was thinking it was... but I thought it was one complete piece right across the truck. I didn't realize it was only the passenger side.
Regardless. It needs to be replaced no matter how big it is.

I creaped your photobucket. NICE bike. And how do you like your new LED tail lights? I have the same lights on my 2007 Silverado. They look great but I'm on my second set in two years.
