If anyone's interested I've got a white 81 GMC 3/4 single cab with a 350 and heavy duty 3 speed auto tranny (400 series I believe) up for sale. I've had it for a around a year and a half and have had limited problems. The motor was rebuilt in '94, but it didn't have the best care before I got it and it's pinging right now. It was hit in the back before I bought it. Right now it has just under 170K, but I don't know how many miles the motor has on it.
I rebuilt the AC las summer with a new compressor/evaporator, but it needs a new a/c belt and I haven't tested it this year.
It's nothing fancy and it's been well used, but it's got life left. Be great for a farm or onsite maintenance truck or such. It's been a reliable D.D. for the last year and a half and can pull rather well for a 3 speed. Fairly new extremely aggressive mud tires that are retreads.
Won't lie - it's nothing pretty.
