C25 Tire Conversion
Hi All - I'm new to the forums, so if I'm a little green, and my questions have been answered before, please just send me over to the right thread. Thanks in advance.
I've got an old beater of a pickup, a '74 GMC C2500 3/4 ton, and I'm looking to buy some new tires. The tires currently on the truck are non-stock 33x12.50x16.5 LT tires. In my googling I've learned that this size is less popular, and thus harder to find/potentially more expensive than typical metric sized tires (265/whatever, etc.). I'd really like to install some tires on this truck that are more road friendly, potentially give me slightly better milage, and are easy to come by so I can pick some up on Craigslist for cheap. I'm willing to swap to new wheels to if it means I can get this kind of tire. Has anyone been in this position before, and if so can you help me out?
Thanks for your help!
