This was my dad's truck until he passed away about 10 years ago. He left it in a sorry state. I have been working on it slowly for over a year to get it back on the road. Read more ยป

This is where the truck sat for over 12 years. My dad hit a deer with it and decided to use that as an excuse to put newer model front end parts on it, and repaint it... again. You can see how beat up it is. Bed isn't even bolted.

The dormant beast. The block is original to the truck, but everything else is different. From my uncle who helped build the engine I know it was bored over .30 to make it a 383, has Eagle Specialty Products forged stroker rotating assembly (H-beam rods, flat pistons), hydraulic roller lifters, moly push rods, trick flow aulm. heads, roller rockers, comp cams camshaft (.5-.51 lift 288 dur.), stiffer springs, high flow oil pump, edelbrock performer seires valve covers, 36lb injectors, and more I just don't know about. It powers a built up 700R4 trans to a 10 bolt chevy rear-end. It used to have a B&M 144 Blower on it, but my dad must have put the TPI back on.

Putting Eastwood Rust Converter on the frame. The old dual exhaust rusted off.

I put Eastwood Rust Converter on the frame, all of it. I even got up under the cab and did all that all the way up to the engine. I then put new rear dampeners on and painted the rust converter over with black Rustolium paint.

Cleaned up the engine a little. In this picture it still needs a lot of help.

NEW BUMPER! God those things are expensive. It's an 88 truck, but I decided to keep the new model parts theme my dad had in mind. Yes, the dual exhaust out the back is gone, I'm getting a new true dual system installed! The old one rusted off.

I have made a slight modification to the engine recently. As it was seen in previous photos, this 383 had an air filter that was WAY to small. So small in fact that it was actually being sucked shut during acceleration. SO! I got some parts from Advanced Auto and made a lil cold air intake of sorts, so I could relocate the filter location and get a bigger one. MUCH better throttle response and power... even noise!
