No Oil Pressure...NO IDEA
hey all
so I've got a 2006 gmc sierra 2500 with the 6.0 gas
magna charger, new cam, lifters, rockers, heads, (had) a CTS-V oil pump, and all the other new parts that were replaced when doing a top end.
truck has about 120xxx on the bottom end (factory), 30,xxx on the top end and CTS pump
so we pulled in to a gas station, truck running fine. sat in park at idle then the truck started making a much deeper tone, I could hear the lifters ticking, and no oil pressure on the gauge
instantly killed the motor and trailered it home
got it home and on the lift and replaced the oil pump with a new Melling. factory pressure and volume
put it back together, new oil, and same issue
pulled the pan today, thinking maybe something is wrong with the pick up...no issues there.
looking up from the bottom, all the bores look good, cam lobes look good, lifters (from what I can see) look good
oil was clean. a little metal in the pan but nothing too crazy
Any ideas where my oil pressure is going? I doubt its two pumps. and pumps don't just die at idle.
Im leaning toward a cam bearing, or main bearing
Any input would be helpful.
Thanks all
