How difficult is it to add cruise control to a 2005 canyon with auto trans.

It's actually really easy. All you have to do is buy the clockspring with the turn signal switch that has cruise, take off your steering wheel, and swap them out. It's plug and play. I did the same thing to mine. Everything is run by the computer. The only thing that won't work is the light on the cluster letting you know your in cruise. I think you have to go to the dealer to get it programmed if you want the light to come on. I bought the clockspring on ebay for around $100 and installed it myself. Took the truck for a ride and instant cruise control.

what do you mean by that, its a factory switch, cruise is already built into the factory computer. There would probably be a 1 year warranty on the part if you bought the part from a dealership. You can probably have the dealer do the work but it would probably run around $300. Functionality is the same as if it came on the truck from the factory. I don't know if it works on any other model trucks.
