Hello. I own a 2000 silverado with the 5.3l engine. It has over 200k miles. No major problem. Recently i started to hear a "clank" noise from the rear of the truck. I opened the rear diff up and found pieces of metal in there. To make a long story short i broke one of the spider gears and the housing was damaged. I would like to know until what year does a complete rear diff fits in there. I heard from 96 and on. Its a positive traction. Can someone point me in the right direction. Thank you.
