02 2500hd tow/haul button does not work

Default 02 2500hd tow/haul button does not work
i have a 2002 2500hd with 180k miles and the tow/haul button will not work please help i tow alot and would like to use this mode

Can almost guarantee the orange wire coming from the shift handle near the shifting teeth has cut it.
