first off i'd like to say hi and thanks to all the guys here the info that you have givin us all is awsome saves alot of time.

My 04 speedo was working fine and then this morning and thenit quit half way to work it started working again then it started reading the wrong speed and its still that way now any suggestion would be great.new cluster? or a short some where?
Over1 hundred thousand miles very first problem cant complain!

 

I believe there was a recall due to failing/faulty clusters.

There was a recall on the insturment cluster on the 04 models. Well I recieved a letter for my 04 GMC Sierra... so I am not sure about a Chevy, but I assume there sould be a recall on them too. However the mileage might be a problem.Just check with your dealership. I can send you a copy of my letter if I still have it for proof that there was a recall, if the dealership says there was not a recall. [&:]
