Default 05 Sierra 2wd 5.3 needs more power

I have a 05 gmc Sierra and need more power. All ready put k&n 57 series and flowmaster exhaust. I'm looking at a Performance chip or programmer. If I can't get a decent power increase im supercharging her in the sping. It's an extended cab and heavier than a single cab but she's gotta be quicker. Hopefully keeping the fuel consumption on mind. I drive a lot and I'll give up. Little mpg for the added power. What's everyone think?

tune by Blackbear perfomance. Programmers suck on these trucks. gears would help performance, you are probably running 3.23's from the factory, go with a set of 3.73's and it probably would kil your mpg.

I did a friend of mine's truck, just like yours, with all that, LS1 cam for $50, and a tune and he added 65 hp to the wheels. He loves it!! And he gets about 20 MPG on the highway, 17 city.

I would go with an adjustable programmer 1st. That way you can adjust the programmer to any other modifications as you go.
Are you losing power through your transmission? I have a 05 silverado crew cab with a 5.3 and 3.73 and it jumps.
I am using a Superchip flashpaq, it has adjustable features or you can use their settings. Depending on what you want to do you can adjust your tune for performance 87 0ctane or performance 91 Octane. That way if you are doing a lot of fwy driving you can run 87 Octane instead of the higher priced 91. If decide to add a cam, headers, different tire size, gears, etc., you can make adjustment for those later, the programmer is adjustable. You may also want to look into the correvette servos to firm up the transmission.
Good Luck
