Default 10 Ply tires for plowing snow...

Are Westlake tires decent?

Local tire dealer tells me they sell more of the Westlake cr857 traction tires for commercial vehicles.

I never heard of them, I know they are made in china and popular in europe, for a 10ply there a decent price at $142.

Never heard of them, and have always had really bad luck with chinese tires. I refuse to buy anything except cooper tires.

Never heard of them either and I would pass on Chinese truck tires as well.

Think I should go with the Cooper AT3?

They are $220 per tire. I am using this on my older 99 gmc sierra, 104K miles, in really great condition, but i am only using for plowing snow so the tires will only be used in the winter time, the tires will probably outlast the truck, i just purchased a new Boss 7'6" sport duty snow plow for the 99 GMC.

I am wondering if a 10 ply cooper at3 how the ride will be compared to westlake 10 ply, I hate to spend the money to only use a few times a year.

I have read on some other forums that the westlake's are good for the money.

I have a 2011 GMC Sierra I use most of the time.

I'd get the Cooper Discoverer M+S. I can get them here in a 265/75R16 load range E (10 ply) for $186 each, and they are really good tires. They are a stud-able snow tire, but I never get them studded. I have had them on my last three trucks and have yet to have any problems with them.
