If its the 5.3L I'd definitely consider it! Great trucks. GM 99-06 were great years and easy to get better mpg with. Air intake, a programmer, and exhaust are inexpensive ways to increase the fuel economy on those trucks. Even if it gets 14mpg stock there are options to increase mileage. Plus you get the power benefits of having a v8. Definitely a win win getting a 5.3L in my opinion!
