i am looking for new front speakers for my truck, walmarts "book" says 6-5-6.75 and crutchfield says 6.75. from my research 6.5 are better speakers then 6.75. my question is what is the actual speaker size of the 2000 chevy silverado 2500??

 

I just replaced mine and pretty much any 6 1/2 will fit. I say pretty much because I am sure there are some out there that might be too deep. I put a set of Pioneer 2 ways in there and they sound real decent. A little clearer than the stocks. I would think your selection of 6 1/2's will be MUCH greater than 6 3/4's. I put a set of cheap Dual brand 6 1/2's (from Walmart) in our 2000 Suburban (boat puller) and they sound pretty dam good too. You will need to drill 4 holes for the mounting screws. Crutchfield sends you a factory speaker plug so you don't have to cut your wires which is always handy. Good Luck!
