Default 350 engine wont start!!!!

had 1995 gmc truck under water. replaced computer, disributor, fuel pump assembly.
i had no compression, so i swapped the block and heads from a 1992 chevrolet. it had a 4 brl carb and intake, but i kept my throttle body and intake... i have good fuel spray and clean fuel, i have fire at all plugs ( used a spark checker ), and with engine at tdc on #1, the rotor button faces the #1 plug on compression stroke. will not start.

it started a couple of times but i had done something really stupid i had the engine block grounded, but not the neg side of battery. then engine block ground burned in to, so i replaced it with 6 gauge wire. since the ground burned, it turns over and almost cranks, but wont... Please help!

Have 150 psi on cylinders now...

sounds like a bad starter......you are drawing to many amps and that is why you keep burning up grounds

Question 350 engine wont start!!!!

I think you should get you starter and engine checked properly. Either of them might be giving the problem.

It only burned the ground once, but could it be robbing the amps from my coil? I have fire at plug tips, but could it be too small to ignite fuel?

HELP! I have a 95 gmc 4x4... sank it underwater. replaced fuel pump assembly, distributer cap, rotor, and spark module, ignition switch, computer, fuel pump relay, plugs, and wires. had only 80 psi compression, so I bought a 92 chevy 350. mine had tbi, and the new motor had a 850 4 barrel so i stripped it down to the block and heads to keep my tbi. i changed over all sensors. i now have 150 psi of compression, i have good fuel spray( i drained tank and removed water). I have spark at the plugs, but will not crank. it is definately in time... I had in on tdc on #1 piston on compression stroke and rotor continues to be at #1 plug( i did try 180 out to be sure). i accidentally tried cranking without the neg side of battery grounded and the but it still tried to crank. it burnt then engine ground into so i replaced in with #6 gauge ground and reatached the neg side terminal. motor turns over but wont crank( it tries to really bad ). Its my origanal starter, and wondering if it could be pulling too many amps and robbing the ignition coil from power. the coil ohms out good, but cant check the ac output to see if its enough spark to ignite fuel....

Had starter checked at autozone, but they said the test was inconclusive, and had to be checked on vehicle...
