After the truck got towed to friends house, we fuel pressure tested it at 55, and it was getting good spark, then after sitting awhile, it fired back up..Now last week was the first time for this but it did this after I filled up..Got on the highway, thend it just sputtered out.I pulled over ,and with in 5 minutes I was back on the road.So yesterday I was driving, stopped at a store came out wouldn't start , friend came, probably cause the truck had cooled off a bit, it started back up, but couldn't make it home as it sputtered out again. My friend who does his best work on european cars thought maybe the crank modulater.

The truck does have a new oem fuel pump, and we replaced the spider looking fuel lines under neath the truck.

well, its losing spark or fuel pressure...your gonna have to find out which is missing when its dead...its a crapshoot otherwise

wow, when it cools off for few it cranks right back up, and when it died there was 55 in fuel pressure, and we got pleanty of spark, but when it first sputtered out it was like bad gas, then at a store it wouldn't crank then about 5 min, it cranked after cooling a bit. I have a 1/4 tank left of gas..COULD IT BE THE CRANK MODULE/SENSOR? thanks John

well,no..the ignition module is fine if you have spark WHEN ITS DEAD

did you check the fuel pressure WHILE ITS DEAD?
i betcha its a pump...spark problems are so rare on these engines
