2005 Silverado Engine swap

It's alot of work and depending on your state and inspection laws you may not be able to get it inspected. The computer in your truck also has your serial number and when they plug them in and scan the vehicle they have to match or you get rejected. Went through this with a Chevy cavalier, standard 2.2 motor and installed a 2.4 z24 motor and computer changed everything car ran great then couldn't get it inspected.

I would think an old school 350/350 tranny swap would be easiest. I'll bet trans dapt makes evereything you need. If you really want power, I'd also bet a big block swap kit exists. And it would still probably be cheaper than a 5.3 or 6.0 swap with the ECM and accessories.

What i meant was is it worth to jump threw hoops to do a upgrade? Im not saying the V8 isnt worth it. All im saying is wouldn't it be easier to just buy a truck with a V8 already in it?
Im in Ontario Canada, The only real obstical i see is E-test's.(Emissions stuff)

There are so many of these motors that they sell really cheap at salvage yards. You could find one with low miles for bout $500 easy! Then depending on how much you pay for labor to put it in. I say yes it is worth it.

You guys are giving him different engines to put in but no info on who has done this before or who to get a kit from.. Cant you just pull a motor,trans,ecu.. ect out of a truck and use most of those parts in a different truck
Info that would help is a web site that sells engines that will fit and what is best for the money
There has to be a lot of swaps out there
