We are about to buy a truck and went off-road for a second to check 4WD. It made a groaning noise like it was rubbing. Is this what all Z71s sound like or is it a serious problem

my z71 doesn't make a sound. i am guessing it could be the front diff. at worst case.

 

I'm not sure what it is, but mine makes a little noise too. I wouldn't call it a groan, but it does sound like something is rubbing. It does it for a while after I take it out of 4WD too. I haven't been motivated to look at it yet, and I'm not too worried about it. It's a 2001 and I've had it since it was new. I think it's always done it...
