Question 2006 Silverado grinding??

Ok...I sold my Z-71 and I just picked up a sweet '06 Silverado with low mileage. I have noticed a grinding/vibration in the gas pedal when I am holding at around 45 m.p.h. and around 1100-ish r.p.m. At first, I thought it was a drive shaft/U-joint problem, but my mechanic said everything was good there. He inspected and test-drove it numerous times and found no cause for the noise. Am I just being paranoid or is there something wrong?

Thanks Y'all!

Its in the pedal itself? or the wheel? did he check the hub assemblies? (mine just went bad and it was grinding terribly)

It's definitely not in the wheels. It's only in the gas pedal which is why I am confused.

That 2006 truck should be drive by wire, correct?

Perhaps you have a throttle valve motor issue. I honestly don't know though. Just speculation.

EDIT: I had an idea. Put the truck in run, but don't start the engine. (This would be one click before you start the engine). Press the throttle down slowly and feel for your vibration. If you're feeling a vibration, then the problem lies with your petal to throttle valve system.

Did your test. Nothing. I am inclined to believe this is just a Chevy-based fluke. I used to work on Chevy fleet for a school district and they had a real problem with the big vans and trucks humming. Turned out, it was a new driveshaft and it just made that sound. I am hoping this is the same kind of deal.

Any other suggestions from anyone before I just put this to bed?

Thanks y'all!

Took the truck into a different shop and they said the noise and grinding happens when the torque convertor is engaged. They are looking into transmission problems...

Default Wait...WUT?!?

So...I just talked to my service tech and he said that the local Chevrolet dealer told him the truck needed a new Exhaust Vibration Resonator Kit. Anyone ever heard of such a thing? What is it? Where is it? What does it do? Aside from the obvious.

I'm guessing that it could be a rubber exhaust hanger. That keeps the exhaust held with the rubber insulator to the welded on metal exhaust hangers.

If it's not that, get a picture of it. If not, don't buy it. It's a scam. Same as a metric screw driver ... or blinker fluid ... by the way, your window regulator motor is bad. And your mirror heater is defective ........... I wouldn't pay for that.
