2007 6.0L Problem NEW Rough Idle and tugging surging problems
Hello all. Well sure could use some help with this one.
Purchased a new 07 silverado with Maxtrailering pack and 6.0L vortec. My truck has a subtle miss at idle. The chev tech manager states that GM is aware of this with this motor and it is caused by lean fuel mixtures that chevy has to tune it to to meet EPA regulations or something like that. He says there is no fix for it. Does anyone here know if GM has programming changes that will address this? I am unsure if I trust this service manager or not.
In addition to the rough idle, my truck seems to feel like it is holding back while driving. It just doesnt feel right...sorta subtle tugging/surging feeling while driving on level ground. It doesnt change when active fuel management kicks on...happens in both v8 and v4 mode. Acceleration stumbling too. Doesnt seem to kick in very fast... once it kicks in it goes fine. Throttle by wire maybe? I have had numerous Chevys and none have driven like this.
I would appreciate ANY info with regards to this. I plan on taking to another dealer but sure would like to arm myself with good information and determine if this is a wide spread problem.
