Newbie here. Apologize up front if this has been addressed, but I tried several searches and came up empty.

I'm looking at buying a truck and on the test drive, I hit the wheel-mounted volume control to turn the radio down and it kicked the radio into scan mode. Volume up worked ok, as did the other stuff, but the volume down button consistently started the radio scanning the dial.

We'll probably end up changing the head unit anyway, so as long as this is an isolated problem, I'm ok with it. Anyone seen this before?? Thx in advance.

Took the truck in and found out it was the clock spring in the steering column/wheel. Dealer covered it, but I think it was $300-400.
