2007 Sierra Classic 4WD Issue?

2007 Sierra Classic 4WD Issue?
Hi folks...I'm new here. 
I just bought a 2007 Sierra Classic Ext Cab with manual 4WD. According to the owners manual, you should be able to switch into 4HI from 2HI at anytime, any speed. While the truck is stopped, I can shift it between the two modes without any issue or effort. However, when I'm driving forward, if I go to shift from 2HI to 4HI, it requires a lot of effort...almost to the point that I'm worried something's gonna break by forcing it. The dealership said everything is okay...but I don't believe them. I don't think putting the truck into 4HI should require that much effort.
Thoughts? Comments?
