I recently purchased a 2008 Z71 crew cab and i have been having a hard time trying to figure out what the best sounding exhaust is. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Talk to people you know that have them, its really all about personal preference you see. What sounds good to me probably won't sound good to you

 

I really like the sound of my truck and nobody has told me that they didn't like it. There was a guy that had a borla exhaust on his 04 GTO and after hearing my truck he wanted to put flowmasters on it. This is my configuration and to me it sounds very much like an old Boss 429 Mustang.

3" pipe 1 in / 2 out flowmaster 50. One muffler that splits it into 2 pipes to come out the side.

Like previously stated it is really up to your taste. I would like to move the muffler closer to the motor to give it an even deeper tone. I hope this was of help to you. Good luck with what you decide to do.

 

I have flowmaster 50's as well, 1 in/2 out. Its nice and throaty when you get on it then at cruising speed you dont even know it is there. I did magnaflow on my girlfriends dad's truck and that sounds very very nice as well. Really you will probably be happy with most of the options out there.

 

How does it sound when the engine goes into 4 cylinder mode. I was told most exhausts don't sound very good in that mode.
