2011 Sierra engine cranks but no start
Hello guys!
I guess this is a common issue on an old truck, but, this morning all of a sudden, the engine (5.3L V8) cranks but does not start. Until yesterday evening, the engine was running without issue. Watching some Youtube videos on the issue, I checked the fuse box and found my truck does not even have a fuse at #20 slot for fuel pump. I put a fuse at #20 slot, however, still no start. I appreciate any input from you guys to deal with the issue.
Thanks!

It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating problem. Here are some steps to help troubleshoot your 2011 Sierra:
Check Fuel Pressure: Make sure the fuel pump is working. You can do this by checking the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. If you don't have the right tools, a mechanic can help.
Listen for the Fuel Pump: Turn the key to the "on" position without starting the engine. You should hear a humming noise from the fuel tank for a few seconds. If you don't hear it, the pump might be faulty.
Check Fuel Pump Relay: Look for the fuel pump relay in the fuse box. If it’s not working, the fuel pump won’t get power. You can try swapping it with another relay of the same type to see if that helps.
Inspect Wiring: Check the wiring and connectors leading to the fuel pump for any damage or corrosion.
Check for Spark: If the fuel system seems fine, check if the engine is getting spark. You can do this by removing a spark plug and seeing if it sparks when cranked.
Look for Error Codes: Use an OBD-II scanner to check for any trouble codes. This can give you more clues about what’s wrong.
Battery and Starter: Ensure your battery is strong enough to crank the engine. A weak battery can sometimes cause starting issues.
If you check these things and still can’t find the problem, it might be best to consult a mechanic. Good luck!

hit the bottom of the fuel tank with a dead blow hammer. (dont go crazy just enough to jolt the fuel pump kinda like tapping on a starter) while your doing that have a buddy try and start it. if it starts if be replacing the fuel pump. if you still have an issue id disconnect the fuel pump control module or whatever they call it on the and look for and green and make sure it has power and ground. underneath the spear tire.
hope this helps keep me posted bud
