Just trying get some advice from everyone out there. Im thinking of purchasing a used 2015 Silverado 4x4 crew cab LT. It has around 110k miles on it and they are asking 20k. It along with around 40 other trucks of the same model and year were just retired from Texas game and fish fleet. they were all in the fleet 4-5 years and as per the carfax they were putting 5k miles on them every 1-2 months, and they received oil changes every 1-2 months. Theyre in perfect aesthetic condition just wondering if this sounds like a fair price?

I think that’s a bit high. Yes, they service them routine but who was driven it and HOW & where did they drive?

Buying a used vehicle is always a gamble no matter how good you think the vehicle or the price is.

CarFax only goes by what’s entered in to their database.

Hows the frame - rusty? Bent? Do you see where any fenders, A arms, axles, hood, grill, radiator or anything else was replaced? Any paint overspray from repainting after repairs?

I would do a Kelly Bluebook check to see what they say is the value. Your local bank could give you a loan value to - just to see where $20K fits in.

What extras or accessories does it come with? Is it a plain truck or did it come with options from the dealer? Did they convert to an alternative fuel like propane then convert back to gas? Is it a diesel? Motor size? Type tranny? Any special features?

My gut tells me that $15K is probably closer to a fair price.
