Better late then never - I actually have a 6.0 and all I've done is the redneck ram air, and put in a trans dapt TBS. I'm going to go up a size on my tires, but other than that I'm going to leave as is. I don't want a lift or anything cause I load and work out of the back of my truck and don't want to work harder than I have to. I've heard that superchips, bully dog, and diablo are starting to make adjustable tuners for the 6.0 similar to what you can get for a duramax, but I haven't tried any of them. I've heard that exhaust can cause you to lose torque for hauling and stuff like that. As for the 2500 rpm deal - that is the torque management.... even if you stomp it lags because teh computer keeps you from having a wide open throttle - custom tune is just about the only way to get rid of that somewhat. You don't want to lose all of it because it helps protect the tranny. In tow/haul with an empty bed, after the torque management gives way, I can keep up with or out run most people off a line. It's a mean motor.

I'm thinking about just getting a muffler now and replacing the stock one. I'd hate to lose more torque right now. I tow and use my truck for work, but I try not to put too much in the back. Now just to find a muffler I like for a truck. I'm thinking the super 40 if its not to "clappy". Hate hearing trucks that sound like they don't have mufflers. I love to get the muscle car sound but doubt that I can with the engine saying above 2400rpm shifting.

I have the 6.0 and done several things to it. I didn't lose any torque and it even tows better as well. I have the k&n intake with the airaid tbs. I have a true dual with twoflowmaster exhaust. I also have it chipped with the granatelli diablo. That thing makes a big deifference. I run 35" all terrains wit a 6 inch pro comp lift. I even fit 37" boggers wit the bumper I have on there right now and turn them easy with the stock 4.11 gears. Its a great motor.
