Default 3:42 Gears with 35's

Hi, I've been looking for a 2006 1500 stock for quite a while. I'd like to find it stock and then put on a 6" Fabtech lift with 35's. I've found one major problem in the trucks that I've looked at. Majority of them have 3:42 gears in them. So I am wondering if I'd be able to get away with 3:42's or do I need 3:73's or 4:10's. The most I would be pulling is a flatbed with 5 quads on it to the dunes. Thanks for your help.

Yes you do need a lower ratio. 4.10's with 35's is minimum. most offroad guys will say 4.56's with 35's.

3.42's suck with stock tires let alone 35's.

I would recommend going with 4.10s if you put 35s on. I am not usually one to recommend that but in this case I think you would notice a big benefit from it. I dont think that you need to go any bigger than that tho. That should be perfect for what you are doing and use it for.

What sand dunes do you go to?
