5.3L to 6.0L motor swap

Question 5.3L to 6.0L motor swap

Hey everybody, im new to the forum so i would like to get some input from you all. i have a 2001 Chevrolet silverado 1500 with the 5.3L. im in the process of getting a 6.0L in the truck now. i just want to get input about maybe some things to look for while doing the swap and also maybe some performance parts you recommend? Thanks

Just to warn your its gonna love fuel lol. I got a 6.0 and a 5.3 and the power is almost uncomparable but it likes the fuel.

O yea I already know that. I'm putting it in a 1/2 ton, not much difference but that's not a big deal right now..

If you are using the 4L60E tranny, get that built soon. The 6.0 has a lot more torque and will wear that stock tranny out quick depending on how you drive it. Are you getting the LQ4 or LQ9 6.0?

I have a question my husband and I are trying to put a 6.0 in our 2001 chevy it had a 5.3 in it but we can't get it to hook up to our stock tranny is there something we have to order for it to mount up
