Default 5spd. Rebuild Possible?

A friend of mine has a '99 Silverado and he ran it low on fluid so it is making a lot of noise now. From what I can tell he has the NV3500 in it. How easy are these to rebuild? I used to be a mechanic but the newest manual I rebuilt was in a '93 Ranger. Are there any special tools you have to have? Usually when they say "special tools required" you can get by without them but sometimes....

Thanks,

Derek

Default RE: 5spd. Rebuild Possible?

Usually the new venture trannys are straight forward, which is why they are so reliable. So you should be able to do it.
