my son has a 87 gmc 2500 square body wrecked it. need new cab,it has computer in it. does it have to be an 87 only because of computer? if not what years could we use.and please tell me why and hows.

 

I would say as long as you swap the computer over, and you use the same body style cab, you should be able to use any square body cab you want, but I've never done any of the aforementioned advice before.

Just thinking, in 88 they upped the body style to the GMT400s, and the square bodies only had computers for a short while. So I figure as long as it bolts up, make the computer fit in the new cab and you'll be good to go
