Ive been having trouble starting up lately.I would turn the key and nada;no click no stutter nothing.Try again sometimes 2 or 3 times and it would start.Here is a list of what iv checked.Starter had it tested.fuses and relays.So i guess im down to ignition switch,neutral saftey switch,or ........... any other ideas. Anyone had simular problems.?????????????? Ive tried starting in neutral(and other gears encase switch was moved)so i doubt if itsthe neutral saftey switch.

 

Is it an automatic?

 

yes its an aoutomatic. VOrtec 454 .not sure about what size tranny its got.

 

you need to get a 12v test lite..have someone hold the key in the crank position and see if the purple wire at the starter gets hot...

tis the only real way to know...bench testing a starter tells you very little.

 

ill have to test it tomorrow.its my haling truck.Pulled the Equipment to a job.Dropped the gooseneck.hopped back in and ...there she sits.So,tomorrow ill check it out w/ a test light. THANKS for YOUR HELP!!!!
