Default 99 Sierra won't start???

Any info would be appreciated on this one:

Today I installed a new battery in the truck. Now my truck will only run for about 1 sec. then it shuts down. I seen a message on the message center saying "SECURITY".I have a remote starter installed andI tried dissabling the remote with the valet switch and I'm still getting the same problem? I also did a code scan and found nothing. PLEASE HELP.

This is something that i dug up when searching the fourm. Hope it helps.

"Thats a passlock fault, it's in the owners manual and explains it a little better than I can.

Basically turn your key to on but don't start the engine and after about 10 minutes the security light will go from flashing to a steady light and then you should be able to start the truck. "

Hey Jake, the security light doesn't stay lit, it just blinked once then never came back on. Is this the same thing? I tried leaving the key on for about 5min. with no luck.

I have the owners manual, the area for the security message is about 3 lines and tell you absolutely nothing. I also check the remote start manual and their is no info on reseting the system. I beleive I disconnected the battery without turning the valet switch on and that's what is causing the M**f'in headache. Thanks anyhow, much appreciated.

FIGURED ITOUT!!

OK, HERE'S HOW YOU OVERIDE THE SECURITY SYSTEM WHEN YOU HAVE A REMOTE STARTER.

MAKE SURE YOUR IN VALET MODE (REMOTE START IS DISSABLED). THEN DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL AGAIN, WAIT A COUPLE MINUTES, THEN RECONNECT YOUR NEGATIVE, CLOSE THE HOOD AND DOORS SO THAT ALLPINS ARE GROUNDED. THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY, IT SHOULD START THE MOTOR AND ERRORS SHOULD BE GONE.

THIS SHOULD WORK, IT WORKED FOR MINE ABOUT AN HOUR AGO
