what year did silverado and Sierra come with A4WD?

I'm sure they've always made 4wd as long as they made trucks. and as long as they started making Silverados and Sierras

Not always from the factory.
Back in the '50/60s to get a 4wd GM truck it was a NAPCO conversion.

I Think the (A4WD) is automatic four wheel drive.
GM`s autotrac system.
I think 1999 with the introduction of the 800 series trucks was the first use of the system.
