the sticker on the ac compressor says 134a i dont think that its been a retro fit
anyway im gonna keep the windows down and side windows open for now till i get a shop that aint gonna charge an arm or leg

 

A shop's expensive machines will be able to do a better job at recovering and vacuuming your A/C system than you can cheaply do at home, so that's a good choice imo.

My old beast has no factory air, just a heater ... I understand. At least I have a sliding rear window.
