Hi, I'm new here. I'm 16, and I recently bought my first vehicle. 300 dollars for a 92 Silverado, 350 V8, overall decent truck. But the frame is rusted out and has multiple cracks in it.


I need advice on what to do about it. The rear left shock is literally rusted off of the frame, and the front right control arm is nearing so. I'll be honest, I'm no mechanic, so I don't know really if I should just find a new frame to have put in, or bother welding this one. Any advice is appreciated.

 

you can't weld rust . I know it looked like a good deal but for $300 , what were you expecting? Find a truck with a blown motor and make him a deal ,buy that and swap it out.

 

I know how you feel, I bought a 784X4 F-150 for $400 the body was so rough I bought a 2 wheel drive for $150 so I'd have more than a few spare parts.
