I currently have a 2001 GMC sierra 2500 HD 4x4 with the 6.0L V8. I am in the market for aftermarket heavy duty bumpers for the front and rear of my truck much like the road armor style. The company Iron Cross makes the front and rear bumpers for the 03-06 sierra 1500 and the 03-06 sierra HD's. I know the mounting brackets for the 2001-2002 HD's is special but not sure how. So I was wondering if anyone has knows or has pictures of how the mounting systems are different and how difficult it would be to buy the bumper for one of the other trucks and simply cut off the old brackets and weld new ones on. And if anyone has extensive knowledge on the subject, which of the two bumpers they actually make would be easier to change a little to fit my truck. Thanks for your time guys.

 

I would call Iron Cross and ask them. Make sure you talk to someone that understands what you are asking, not just a saleman.
