Default Antenna cable

I have a 2009 Silverado & I'd like to install my scanner under the dash. To keep the clutter down I'd also like to use the existing radio antenna by tapping into the cable with a splitter. Where does the cable run, up behind the glove box or somewhere else? Is it easy to get to where it plugs into the radio? Thanks!

I would take the time to run an extra antenna that is tuned to the frequency range you are monitoring....this provides optimum listening range and clarity...I assume from your use name that you are a fireman.....talk with the people that maintain your departments radios......they can point you in the right direction...and help keep the clutter down with the proper equipment.
