Default Anyone know what this is (Picture)???

I bought my 2006 1500 about a month ago and this thing is just below and to the right of my steering wheel. The best I can tell it has been disconnected from whatever it was hooked to. There are also some wires under the dash that have been cut (aftermarket wires for ground and power).

Does anyone know what this was for and who makes it?

was this truck used by fire, police, highway dept ect at one time? it looks like a control for an "arrow" bar i.e. 1 made the bar scroll right to left 2 made it scroll from center out to both sides and 3 made it scroll from left to right....we had something like this in our old firetruck before the Dept bought a new one.....

I really don't know its prior history since I bought it from a dealer who got it from a trade in.

Construction workers use those when working on the road.

I would agree. Ive seen them in those road ranger truck thats come to your rescue when you blow a tire on a high way in the middle of the night in the pouring rain. But they usually have hydraulic lift on the arrow signs so they can fold down to decrease wind resistance
