Hey guys, my buddy has a 2002 Cavalier with 75,000 miles on it and the flex pipe is deteriorated. PA has a thing with car manufacturers where they require a 8 year or 80,000 mile warranty on emissions equipment on all new cars from 2000 and up. So the dealership should cover the flex pipe considering:

1. The flex pipe and cat are on the same piece of pipe, no flanges in between.
2. Is it technically an emissions issue considering it is before the cat.

They are trying to back out of it but I think he has a good case against them since it is all one piece and its leaking. What should he do? Call GM directly and bitch? Who should he call?

Nevermind, he raised a stink and the dealer replaced it.

 

You P.A. guys are lucky with your emissions laws, M.D. sucks ***. if you have obd1 they put it on the treadmill and and run the snot out of it. next time i go im chain smoking 20 cigs with the windows up, or possibly leave a real nasty fart in there for him.

Yeah PA has that too, before we sold my girlfriends Escort we got the emissions and inspection done, well I had to take it to the garage I used to work at to get it to pass. Yeah, I had the sticker but, gee, for some reason there was no paperwork! lol.
