Default Bad knock sensor

OK - I've got a bad knock sensor and I think I'm going to try to change it out myself..... Anyone have any tips or tricks that will help? How long do you think it will take? Is there anything else I should do while I'm in there that far?

Whats it on?..a gen 3?

if so..its not too bad...I have no idea of your tools/technical knowledge, but you'll need some special tools (like a fuel line disconnect)

I know I can do the wrenchwork - but I looked at it and I don't have some of the specialty tools and time is not on my side either. I think I'm going to take it into a shop and have them do it for me tomorrow. They said it should be like $250 before parts and I'm bringing them in myself. Thanks though.

i did one on my truck its a 00 5.3l 1500 but its the same thing, there is no specailty tools needed , you will need a tamper proof torx bit for the fuel rail to remove it , it took me 1 hour to do it, its not bad ur knees will hurt from kneeling on the raditor the knock sensor was 30 from autozone. the only thing is put oil on the injector o-ring when your puting them in or you will rip them and cause fuel spray, also make sure what knock sensor is bad before you change it and rtv the seal so water doesnt get back in.
