I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I have a new 2009 GMC Sierra, regular cab, 4wd. The bed is shifted to one side, and sticks out about an inch more on the passenger side than it does on the drivers side. It looks to be square to the cab, just shifted off to the right when looking at it from behind. It is most obvious looking through the side view mirrors, where the front of the bed can be seen through the passenger mirror, but not through the drivers mirror.

My guess is factory sloppiness. I am a DIY'er, and have no faith in the dealership. Is it a good idea to correct this myself?

You will have your hands full if you do this, not saying it can't be done, I'd go back to the dealer, or find another dealer if you don't like this one.

It is wierd, but I have noticed it on all the trucks I have owned. I have been told that not one bed will be put perfect, just that some are a little misaligned than others.

 

I just bought mine on the 4th of july,brand new and the tail gate was bent on one side. I really like gm truck but things like that make me think twice about buying it.
