Beginning to rip apart my engine

Is this my trans cooler? (it screws into my radiator)












im starting to rip the engine down to bare block. and keep some for parts and some to sell

and im thinking of making a table out of my V8 block haha

and for the second picture is that trans fluid? it was screwed in the radiator

The answer you seek grasshopper is yes....... It's the trans cooler.

hmm then i guess the other one was my power steering cooler

Power steering cooler? I didn't even know they used one but when you said screwed into the radiator , trans cooler was my first thought since that's what it is 9 times outta 10

Yeah what MrDragon said ... it's most likely the transmission cooler. I didn't think that chevy trucks even had a power steering cooler. Now the transmission cooler has an inlet and out let ... perhaps that's what you were seeing?

well on the left side i had the transcooler and on the right side i had what looked like a seperate radiator. and it leads right into the gear box.

ill go take a couple pictures

This is where one of the tubes lead too in the gearbox.

Ahhhh ok. Now that style I've seen. I was thinking it led to the radiator and was internal just like the factory trans cooler. My old Baja bug used something similar as an external oil cooler.

No I have the internal trans cooler plus the external power steering cooler
